This talk will address and give insight to the use of Māori Cultural IP in games discussing CODEs “proper practice” in creating meaningful partnerships between games studios and local iwi to create authentic Māori content in games.
About the speaker
Taikawa in his role as Māori Partnership and Pathways Manager at CODE is helping maintain partnerships between Games studios and local iwi or other Māori consultation in oral traditions, narrators, carvers, weavers, artist to imbued their world view and craft into creating authentic Māori games. He is also working in partnership with local tertiary providers to enable new pathways, as well as working with Te Kurakaupapa Māori o Otepoti to enable more opportunities for Māori to jump into Game development.
