As the online world grows, so does the prevalence and impact of harm. Unfortunately New Zealand has fallen behind with effective legislation to help prevent harm, or provide a method to combat it. As a specialist in social media law, and the Harmful Digital Communications Act, I’ll look at how far the act goes, what it misses, how companies can help prevent harm to users, as well as how to protect and support staff who, in this industry, are often attacked.
