Existential Game Design

This talk explores work that I’ve been doing on designing games in concert with elements from social psychology that invite players towards reflection, awareness of the human condition, and acceptance. It will feature some of my own design work with my research partner Doris Rusch at the University of Uppsala in Sweden, as well as work I’ve done that analyzes other games relative to our design framework on existential, experiential games (Spiritfarer, Journey, Walden, etc.)
