What’s your favourite Michael Bay film? Did you know that the amazing explosions you see on screen and in your favourite action movies are not actually recorded live? They are carefully crafted pieces of composition work made using a number of elements that you (the aspiring sound designer or explosion enthusiast) can find in your average sound library, around the home, or in sample packs. Whilst explosions and gunfire can seem simple to design, they are in fact some of the most challenging sounds to get right for screen and games.
