Making a VR game can be tricky and comes with its own set of challenges. Level streaming, item persistence and something as simple as grabbing an object can cause major issues. This talk will go over some of the things the Wanderer team wished they knew when they started, the challenges they faced and how they solved them.
The goal of this talk is for you to walk away with newfound insight into some of the technical challenges that can occur when developing a VR game in Unreal while drawing from the experience the Wanderer development team got making the game.
Sebastian will cover the major technological challenges they faced & what they did to overcome them, engine changes they needed to make, and what they wish they knew before they started.
