Josh is an Experienced User Researcher at PikPok and led research for the remaster of PikPok’s 2009 game Shatter for Netflix and PC/consoles. In this talk Josh will explore the porting and remastering of Shatter to mobile for Netflix and the development of Shatter Remastered Deluxe for PC/consoles from the perspective of UX research.
Attendees will gain deeper insight in to the role of UX research in the development of Shatter Remastered and Shatter Remastered Deluxe as well as game development in general. This includes the range of methods that can be employed and what drives the selection and use of specific methods at certain stages of development.
This talk will also provide insight into the process of updating a game to align with the expectations of contemporary audiences and will explore the unique design considerations involved in porting PC and console games to mobile and back again.
