Billy Brooks 

Visual Effects Supervisor, Mind + Machine VFX

Billy has been working in the visual effects industry for more than 25 years. He spent the majority of his career at Industrial Light and Magic where he was trained as a generalist in John Knoll’s Rebel Unit. Since then, he has been lucky enough to work at quite a few VFX studios, animation studios, and he even spent 5 years at Electronic Arts.

Since January of 2021, he has been a Virtual Art Department Supervisor at ILM working with the Stagecraft team. Billy’s VFX company, Mind and Machine VFX worked on Raised by Wolves where he served as vender side VFX Supervisor.

Billy has worked as a senior lighter at DreamWorks Animation, CG Generalist at Industrial Light & Magic, Lighting Director at Electronic Arts, Lighter/Compositor at Sony Imageworks, to name a few. One of his career highlights was being fully responsible for designing the R2-D2’s booster rockets and making him fly in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones.
