Interests in biology, mathematics, literature and history, help fuel and contextualise Doug’s full-time work as an educator and designer at Victoria University of Wellington. His research projects have been awarded for their innovative use of digital tools and storytelling, and have been displayed at the MoMA (NYC), Guggenheim (Bilbao) and the ArtScience Museum (Singapore). Recently he has undertaken leadership roles, helping grow the School of Design Innovation to now cover a wide-range of disciplines and course offerings, including: user-experience design, Mātauranga design, animation, and game design. Today, Doug is the leader of the Animation programme, helping students develop their artistic voice and technical skills in creative software, design, and storytelling, with alumni working at Weta Digital, Animal Logic, and Fox&Co.
