Zoe has a strong background in the media industry. She has worked in game production, film production, digital media, print media and television over the last fifteen years. Zoe originally joined Runaway as a Senior Producer in 2015 and then moved into leading the business as the CEO in 2016. Over the last six years, Runaway has grown from a team of 8 with two live games to a team of 30 with 6 live games and multiple new products in development. Runaway develops and publishes mobile games, inspired by the natural world. Zoe has been awarded the ‘Future Business Leader’ award at the Obiz Awards, the ‘Rising Star’ award at the 2018 NZ Game Awards and was recently awarded the 2020 ‘Industry Pillar’ award. She has previously been a speaker at NZGDC, was selected to speak at GDC in San Francisco in 2020 (pre-covid!), is a current board member for Startup Dunedin and is a key contributor to Runaway’s #GirlsBehindTheGames campaign.
