What I Wish I Knew When I Became a Game Designer

Date: Saturday 2nd September

Time: 2:20pm

The talk will go over three areas that would have been helpful for me to know when I first started working as a game designer – how to “Research” the company/game I would be working for/on, what to “Learn” regarding each discipline’s role on the game (Art/Animation/Programmers/Production), and how to “Communicate” with each of these disciplines. The aim is to help people put themselves in the best position possible when applying for the highly competitive Junior Game Designer roles that pop up, as well as give people wanting to move into the space perspective on what might be required of them when they start working.
