We’re seeing a massive growth in demand for AR experiences and, with specialized devices on the horizon, practical knowledge of AR is more valuable than ever. It can be difficult as an AR beginner to easily assess different approaches to common problems such as the real-world anchoring of content. I have done the research and have the first-hand professional experience to know what works and what doesn’t. Join me for an overview of pros and cons aimed at demystifying AR tracking modes.

About the speaker

Andrew is a developer in the games industry and currently works for CerebralFix, a New Zealand-based game studio that creates mobile and digital location-based experiences for clients like Disney, Universal, DreamWorks, and Pixar. He previously spent four years working as a developer for Method Digital where he worked in Unity (AR Foundation), Unreal, Snapchat Lens Studio, and Spark AR. After studying Game Development at Media Design School, Andrew found a passion for Augmented Reality and other XR and upcoming technologies. As a part of the CerebralFix Special Projects team, Andrew uses his experience in AR technologies to develop immersive digital installations using the latest technologies from partners like Unity, Unreal Engine, and Niantic.
